The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Your Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.

The first season presents a diverse group of characters residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by songs about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
